Kling AI suits people who want to make longer, camera-directed clips from text or images and who are happy to pay for a plan to get 1080p/4K output without a watermark. Pika suits creators who want one subscription that covers many video, image and audio models and small editing tools. Kling has a free Basic plan with free generation options (exports generally carry a watermark), while Pika's Free plan has no monthly credits, so you need to buy a credit pack to use it.

Kling AI is a video and image generator. Its homepage leads with Kling 4.0, a video model it describes as giving audio-visual performance with stable dynamic motion, and Kling Image 3.0, an image model with native 4K output and support for generating image series in a consistent style. The site also lists text to video, image to video, an AI video editor, an AI photo editor, Motion Control, AI avatars, AI portraits and Lip Sync, plus a separate API platform for developers.
Video features. Kling's AI video generator page says you can turn a text prompt or a still image into a video, with native audio. With Kling 4.0's Omni Reference you can add up to 15 combined reference assets (images, videos and subject references) to guide the result, and Kling 4.0 supports dialogue in 9 languages. You choose the aspect ratio and duration, up to 30 seconds per generation. Start and end frames guide a transition, and up to 10 keyframes let you set extra compositions, poses and scene changes. Kling says a single image can become a tracking shot, an orbit, a close-up or a wider scene.
Free plan. The membership page lists a Basic plan at $0. The FAQ on the video generator page says Kling offers free generation options for eligible users, but that available credits and features depend on your account and current promotions, and that some models, higher resolutions and advanced features need a membership or extra credits. It also says free-tier exports generally include a watermark, and watermark removal is a membership benefit. In the plan comparison, 1080p/4K video, watermark removal and commercial use of generated content are not listed for Basic.
Paid plans. Kling sells four memberships, priced in US dollars. Each comes with monthly credits, and higher tiers get a lower price per credit:
Paid plans list daily free credits for subscribers, unlimited queued tasks, faster generation, 1080p/4K video, watermark removal and commercial use of generated content. Basic allows 1 video per generation; paid plans allow up to 4. The page was also showing a 30% discount on the first month, available once; we have left that offer out of the prices above.
Platforms. Kling's site links to apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows, as well as the web studio and the API.

Pika describes itself as creative tools for video, image and audio. Instead of one main generator, it is built around self-contained apps. Its homepage lists Video Studio, Color Grade, Extend Video, Pika Soundtrack, Edit Image, Character Studio, Image Studio and Product Shot, and its apps menu also includes Speech Studio, Music Studio, Motion Transfer and Swap Anything. Pika also gives you access to third-party models such as Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image 2.5, alongside its own models.
Video features. Pika's Video Studio lets you attach up to 50 characters, products, settings and styles and @mention them in your prompt, then generate anything from a short clip to a 30-second multi-shot video with sound. You can start from a photo and describe the action or camera movement, and add image, video or audio references, with available controls depending on the model. On 29 October 2026 Pika announced Pika H3 Flex, a model post-trained on MiniMax H3 that it says supports up to 12 references, five separate audio stems and finishing at up to 4K. On 16 October 2026 it announced a Pika plugin inside ChatGPT.
Free plan. Pika's Free plan costs $0 but comes with 0 credits a month ("packs only"), so you need to buy a credit pack before you can generate. It allows 2 video and 2 image or audio generations in parallel and has no watermark, but it does not include a commercial licence.
Paid plans. Prices are in US dollars:
All plans include all models and no watermark. Extra credit packs start at 1,500 credits for $25. Pika notes that top-up credits only work in Pika Create on pika.art and its MCP, not with the API, the iOS app or old.pika.art. As a guide to what credits buy, the pricing page lists a 720p, 5-second Seedance 2.5 video at 122 credits and a 1K Nano Banana 2 image at 8 credits.
Platforms. Pika runs on the web, and its site mentions an iOS app, a developer API, an MCP server and the ChatGPT plugin.

On 2 November 2026 we read Kling AI's homepage, membership plan page (monthly and yearly views) and AI video generator page, and Pika's homepage, pricing page and Video Studio page. Both sites showed prices in US dollars. Kling's membership page was running a first-month discount, which we have left out; we also note the after-first-month monthly price it showed, so you can see the full picture. We used no review sites, ratings or user numbers and have not tested either tool. Prices, credits and plans change often, so check each official pricing page before you buy.
Kling has a Basic plan at $0 and says it offers free generation options for eligible users, depending on account and promotional conditions. Free-tier exports generally include a watermark, and 1080p/4K video, watermark removal and commercial use are listed as paid benefits.
Pika has a Free plan at $0, but it includes 0 credits a month, so you need to buy a credit pack (from $25 for 1,500 credits) to generate. Free outputs have no watermark but do not come with a commercial licence.
Both turn photos into video. Based on what each site describes, Kling puts more focus on directing a single shot, with start and end frames, up to 10 keyframes and camera control. Pika's strength is choice: its Video Studio takes up to 50 references and lets you pick from several models. We have not tested output quality.
Pika includes a commercial licence on Starter and above, not on Free. Kling lists commercial use of generated content as a benefit of its paid memberships, not the Basic plan. Check each company's terms before publishing client work.
