Context Engine is an AI-powered shared memory for your AI agents and your team. AI tools save memories as they work and read from them when a new session starts, while people on the team can browse the same memory, ask it questions and add files.
It is not a chatbot and does not run agents itself. Instead, it gives tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code one place to keep decisions, notes, people, customers and files, so context carries over between sessions and between people.
Key features include typed memories that record which tool or person saved them, a change history for each memory, short session briefs that tell a tool what has changed since its last visit, and semantic search by meaning as well as exact wording.
Memory is organised into engines, each with a plain-language purpose that guides what gets saved. You can run one engine for yourself, one per client or project, or one for a team. Each connection can reach only the engines you choose, with read-only or read-and-save access, and the system writes daily, weekly and monthly summaries, links related items and flags duplicates.
The Ask feature answers plain-language questions with citations to the memories used, and you can upload single files, folders or zip archives. Teams can invite members with owner, admin, member or viewer roles.
It integrates with ChatGPT, Claude on the web and desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and any other agent or tool that supports MCP or the HTTP API through an access key.
On privacy, each engine has its own database and search index, content is not used for training, support access needs owner approval, engines can be exported as Markdown and JSON, and an EU data location can be chosen at setup.
Pricing: a Free plan costs nothing and includes one agent per engine and 1 GB of memory. Pro is $12 per month or $99 per year per engine, Unlimited is $39 per month or $299 per year per engine, and Enterprise starts from $6,000 per year for a self-hosted install. Team members are free on every plan.
It is suited to individuals who use several AI tools, developers working in Claude Code or Cursor, consultants and freelancers who want separate memory per client, and teams that want one shared memory across members and their AI agents.
