Elmo is an open-source AI visibility platform for answer engine optimisation (AEO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO) that shows how AI models talk about your brand.
It tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Qwen, Kimi and other models mention your brand, which sources they trust and cite, and what to change to get recommended.
Elmo both scrapes what real users see in popular AI search apps and queries other models directly through their APIs and OpenRouter, running tracked prompts up to four times a day.
Key features include a dashboard for visibility, share of voice, sentiment and position, source and citation analysis, opportunities ranked by impact, off-site AEO insights, unlimited seats on every plan, and an API and MCP server for connecting Elmo to other tools and agents.
Because the code is open source on GitHub, Elmo can be self-hosted on your own servers with unlimited prompts and every model, with no lock-in. A white-label option lets agencies offer AI visibility tracking under their own brand, domain and SSO.
Pricing: self-hosting is free. The hosted cloud version has Starter (29 US dollars a month), Basic (99), Pro (299) and Business (649) plans that differ by brands, tracked prompts, platforms and check frequency, with annual billing saving two months and custom plans on request.
