Runcell is an AI agent that works inside Jupyter notebooks. You ask a question and it writes the Python code, runs the cells, reads the notebook outputs and carries the work forward to the next step.
It is installed with pip and works within your existing Jupyter environment, so the analysis stays in a notebook you can inspect and rerun.
Key features include an autonomous agent mode that plans multi-step notebook workflows, writes and executes code and fixes errors as it goes; in-context assistance that reads surrounding cells and outputs to explain a transformation, result or error and apply a fix; and a learn-by-doing mode for trying analytical methods side by side with real outputs.
The agent loop covers inspecting the notebook, data and existing code, planning and executing steps, interpreting tables, charts and statistics, and then continuing with the next question.
It is aimed at data analysis, data science, risk and quantitative finance, and research and experimentation work. Paid plans give access to advanced models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, plus a privacy mode.
Pricing: a free Hobby plan with 20 credits per month and limited model access. Pro is 20 USD per month for 500 credits, Pro+ is 60 USD per month for 2,000 credits and Ultra is 200 USD per month for 10,000 credits, with a Teams plan also available.
It is suited to data analysts, data scientists, quantitative analysts and researchers who do their work in Jupyter notebooks.
