Burncaps is an AI-powered browser tool that burns animated word-by-word captions into talking videos, or finds the best moments of a podcast, talk, webinar or interview and returns them as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips.
Your video opens in the page and is never uploaded to the company's servers. Only the sound goes to its speech service, and on a computer English can be transcribed on your own device. The company states it does not train AI on what you make.
The clip finder returns roughly one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30 per recording, ranks them and circles the ones it would post first. Each clip is cut to 9:16, framed on the speaker, cleaned of ums and dead air, and given an opening card and captions.
Key features include 60 caption styles, captions translated into 59 languages, recordings up to three hours long, word corrections that apply everywhere with one click, brand logos and presets, B-roll stock shots on Pro, and free SRT, VTT, ASS and text subtitle files for recordings up to ten minutes.
It accepts MP4 or MOV files, or audio for subtitles, exports MP4, and works on phones and computers without a watermark.
Pricing: the free plan gives 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, with no sign-up or watermark. Starter costs 9.98 US dollars a month or 49 US dollars once for unlimited captioned videos. Pro costs 29 US dollars a month for unlimited clips and captions, with a 7-day free trial that needs no card.
It is suited to podcasters, streamers, educators, interviewers and clippers who want short captioned clips from long recordings while keeping their footage private.
