ChatNest is a Chrome extension that organises your AI chats into folders and gives you a prompt library with variables. It lives in the Chrome side panel and leaves the AI sites themselves untouched.
It has full support for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity and Poe, with experimental support for Doubao, Kimi and Copilot.
When you click save, you confirm the title, choose a folder and add a note you will recognise later. Only the title, URL and your own note are stored, and ChatNest does not scan or upload your chat history. Folders can be nested up to eight levels and renamed, moved or collapsed.
Key features include live search across saved titles and notes, filtering by folder or by site, and a prompt library where you write a template once with blanks such as topic and language, fill them in, preview the result and insert it into the chat box. Prompts can be opened with a keyboard shortcut or slash command, and nothing is sent for you.
It also offers JSON, Markdown and encrypted backups, quote cards and 55 interface languages. It is local-first, works offline for its core features and needs no account on the free plan.
Pricing: Free includes 5 folders and 20 prompts with no sign-in or card. Pro costs 7.99 USD per month or 79.99 USD per year and adds optional cloud sync on up to three devices, unlimited folders and prompts, version history, variable sets, smart views and batch organise. A Local Lifetime option costs 300 USD once for one device.
It is suited to heavy users of AI chat tools who want to find past conversations quickly and reuse their best prompts across several AI sites.
