EarDub is an AI-powered browser extension for Chrome and Edge that dubs YouTube videos into your language with AI voices kept in sync with the speaker, so you can listen to the translation instead of reading subtitles.
There is no video upload or waiting. You press the button on a video and an AI voice dubs it in real time. Dubbing only starts when you press it, and the extension runs only on YouTube and sites you allow.
Translation is context-aware: captions are joined into full sentences before translation and each translation is checked. Speech can speed up slightly, up to 1.45x, to keep pace, and the voice realigns when you jump to another point in the video.
Key features include 75 dubbing languages, more than 300 male and female AI voices including regional accents, separate volume sliders for the original audio and the dub, and bilingual subtitles from 14 to 28 px that can be hidden. On paid plans it can recognise speech and dub videos that have no captions.
As well as YouTube it works on sites such as Udemy, Coursera, X, Bilibili and Gumroad. It runs on desktop Chrome and Edge and on Android through the Vivaldi browser, but not on iPhone, iPad or the YouTube app. Copy-protected content and live streams are not supported.
Pricing: a free plan allows 30 minutes a day on captioned videos. Basic is $9.99 a month or $83 a year with 60 hours a month and dubbing without captions, and Pro is $19.99 a month or $155 a year with no time limit.
It is suited to learners and viewers watching foreign-language tutorials, online courses, interviews, podcasts, game guides and dramas who would rather listen than read.
