Candor is an AI-powered personal finance app that is run through the AI agent you already use, such as ChatGPT or Claude. You tell your agent what you want in your own words, and it builds a plan from your real accounts and keeps you on track.
You can describe goals like buying a first home, paying off debt, building an emergency fund, taking a sabbatical or saving for a trip, and your agent turns each one into a tracked plan with a target amount, a date and a monthly figure.
Every week Candor runs a review of your money and your agent brings you the things worth fixing, such as a budget line that is running over, a loan that is about to end or an investment mix that may not suit a near-term goal.
Key features include goal tracking, budgets, cash flow, recurring bills, transactions, accounts, net worth and investments, all inside a full finance app that your agent keeps organised. An activity log shows every action your agent took and why.
Accounts are linked through Plaid with read-only access. Candor cannot pay, trade or transfer money, your bank login goes to Plaid rather than to Candor or your agent, and the site states your data is never sold, used to train models or used for ads. You can revoke access, export or delete your data at any time.
It works with ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and other agents, and is listed as a ChatGPT plugin and a Claude connector. Setup involves starting a trial, linking accounts, then sending your agent a single setup message.
Pricing: a 7-day free trial (card required), then one plan with everything included at $14.99 a month or $99 a year (from about $8.25 a month). You can cancel before the trial ends and pay nothing.
It is suited to individuals and couples who already use an AI chatbot and want a goal-based budget and weekly money check-ins without paying advisor fees. Candor notes it is not a licensed advisor and gives no advice.
