CloudKnife is an AI-powered cloud cost optimisation platform that measures what your applications actually need and trims the rest of your cloud spend. It describes itself as a FinOps 3.0 platform, meaning it goes beyond dashboards and recommendations to carry out changes with your approval.
AI agents learn what each cloud resource is, how it is really used and what it is allowed to become. A deterministic core then checks every recommendation against hard rules, so a workload such as an SAP virtual machine is only offered certified sizing options.
The Understand area brings your whole cloud into one place, explains how costs have changed and what drove them, flags drift early with a root cause, and lets you slice spend by application, team or customer.
The Optimise area delivers recommendations with evidence, context and reasoning. It covers rightsizing, scheduling resources off at nights and weekends, reservations and commitments, and removing orphaned resources such as unattached disks and old snapshots. Changes can be prioritised by savings, risk and effort.
The Execute area includes Autopilot, which applies changes within policies and infrastructure-as-code guardrails that you set, and keeps adjusting infrastructure as workloads change.
CloudKnife currently runs on Microsoft Azure, with Google Cloud and AWS support listed as coming soon. Use cases cover compute, databases, storage and commitments.
Pricing: a Free plan is available forever for up to 5k euro of cloud spend, 3 Azure subscriptions and 2 users. The Standard plan is 100 euro a month billed yearly and the Full plan is 400 euro a month billed yearly, both with a 14 day free trial and no credit card required.
It is suited to cloud, platform and FinOps teams, as well as engineering leaders who want to lower their Azure bill without hurting performance. The company is based in Ghent, Belgium.
