CopyLeaks emerges as one of the more accurate free tools, boasting a 66% accuracy rate in our testing (although notably lower than the 99% claimed on its website). Much like Sapling, it capably identifies GPT-3.5 generated texts and covers over half of GPT-4 texts with a noteworthy absence of false positives.
However, despite its commendable accuracy, CopyLeaks faces certain challenges in terms of usability. Users encounter a daily check limit, which, while extendable through sign-up, cannot be entirely removed without a free account. Additionally, the results provided by CopyLeaks differ notably from those of other tools, resulting in potential confusion.
Rather than furnishing an overall percentage, CopyLeaks offers a highlighted text as the outcome. When users hover over segments of the text, a percentage is revealed, although it doesn't correspond to an overall AI content percentage. It appears that this percentage reflects the tool's confidence in its label for that particular text segment, though this remains speculative, as the interface does not clarify its meaning.
Use Cases:

Academic Integrity: Educators and students can employ CopyLeaks to examine academic submissions, research papers, and essays to identify AI-generated content and uphold academic integrity.
Plagiarism Detection: CopyLeaks serves as a tool for detecting plagiarism in academic and professional documents, verifying the authenticity of the content and preventing accidental inclusion of AI-generated text.
Editorial Quality Control: Editors, publishers, and news organizations can use CopyLeaks to maintain the quality and credibility of their content by spotting AI-generated text within articles and reports.
Content Quality Assurance: Businesses and organizations can deploy CopyLeaks to assess the authenticity of content on their websites or in their materials, ensuring that only human-crafted content is presented.
