Mastra Factory is an open source software factory from Mastra that uses persistent coding agents to take work from an issue through to a reviewed pull request. It runs inside a configurable software development lifecycle.
Work moves through defined stages: intake, triage, planning, building, review and done. Agents investigate each issue, gather context and identify what is missing, then turn that investigation into a concrete implementation plan for approval before writing code.
You define your own lifecycle stages and configure rules at each stage for each type of work. Humans stay in the loop at key points, answering agent questions during triage, editing plans before implementation and deciding whether to merge the final pull request.
It connects to a GitHub organisation and repository, optionally a Linear project, and a model provider of your choice. It can work on an existing codebase, inspecting code, implementing changes, running checks and opening pull requests. Teams work through a shared cloud dashboard, and each work item keeps its own session.
Because it is open source and built on the Mastra TypeScript agent framework, its agents, tools, workflows and UI can be adapted to other multi-step processes such as content production, research or data analysis. It can be deployed on the Mastra platform or self-hosted, and is set up with npm create factory.
Pricing: the Mastra platform Starter plan is free with 100K observability events and 24 CPU hours a month. The Teams plan is $250 per month with SSO and longer data retention, and Enterprise pricing is custom.
It is suited to engineering teams that want governed, agent-driven software delivery for features, bug fixes, refactoring and tests.
