Pax Historia is an AI-powered alternate history sandbox game, currently in alpha, where players take control of a scenario and see how history unfolds from their choices.
Players start a game from a preset scenario and the platform's AI handles the main simulation and narrative, along with advisor features such as suggested actions and action review. Players sign in with a Google account to play.
The preset library covers historical eras from the Stone Age, antiquity and the middle ages through the world wars, the Cold War and the modern day, as well as alternate history, science fiction (apocalypse, time travel, extraterrestrial, future), fantasy and abstract settings.
A large community creates and shares presets, playlists and assets. The site highlights most played, recently updated and sponsored presets, popular creators, and creator templates that act as starting points for new scenarios.
Creator docs explain how to build workflows and game bundles. Workflows control game timing, prompts, tools and retry rules, and call three platform AI slots (game, advisor and utility), while the platform chooses the model and handles billing for each AI call. Bundles run the game logic through a versioned service gateway.
The team also runs Pax Arena, a research page that ranks AI models using blind A/B comparisons made by Pax Historia players.
