ChatGPT, short for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is a chatbot made by OpenAI. It came out on November 30, 2022. What makes it special is that it lets users guide conversations in terms of length, style, detail, and language.
ChatGPT is built on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, which are part of OpenAI's GPT series. These models are based on Google's transformer architecture. OpenAI trained ChatGPT for conversations using different learning methods.
At first, ChatGPT was free for research. But because it got so popular, OpenAI now has a free version based on GPT-3.5. The advanced version, based on GPT-4, and early access to new features are available to paying users called "ChatGPT Plus."
Use Cases:
Conversational Assistance: ChatGPT empowers users to engage in meaningful and tailored conversations, thanks to its ability to follow conversational cues and preferences.
Language Generation and Interaction: Users can interact with ChatGPT to generate and respond to text, making it a versatile tool for creating written content and facilitating dynamic conversations.
Advanced AI Models: Built on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, ChatGPT leverages the advanced capabilities of OpenAI's models to provide insightful and contextually relevant responses.
Research and Learning: ChatGPT's initial availability for research purposes makes it a valuable tool for exploring AI-assisted conversations and understanding natural language processing.
