OpenNovel is an AI-powered novel translator that turns web novels from other languages into readable translations in seconds. It is aimed at readers of Chinese, Korean and Japanese web novels and light novels.
You paste a chapter link, text, an ePub or images, pick a target language and read the result. English and more than 15 other languages are supported, including Spanish, French, Portuguese and Arabic.
A glossary keeps character names, gender pronouns and key terms consistent across every chapter. OpenNovel detects characters and terms from the novel content, and readers can customise them.
Key features include a Fetch Next button that pulls in and translates the following chapter, ePub import, in-place editing of translations, and auto-translation of whole novels with export to ePub for e-readers.
It is available on the web, as a browser extension for sites that need a login, and as iOS and Android apps. A separate tool translates manga and manhwa.
Higher plans include boosted translations that use the most advanced AI model, plus storage for hundreds of novels in a personal library.
Pricing: the Free plan includes 10 chapters a month with no credit card. Paid plans are Casual at US$4.99 a month, Hobby at US$9.99 a month and Bookworm at US$19.99 a month, with unlimited chapter translations under a fair use policy. Enterprise pricing is available on request.
It is suited to web novel fans who want consistent, readable translations of untranslated series.
