PodText is an AI podcast transcription tool that turns episodes and recordings into searchable, timestamped text in a private reading workspace.
You can paste a link from Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, RSS feeds, Xiaoyuzhou, podcast.de or YouTube (where captions are accessible), or upload an audio or video file of up to 1 GB and six hours.
Each transcript includes timestamps, AI summaries, chapters and highlights, so you can follow along during playback, search for any passage and jump back to the exact moment in the audio.
Key features include support for more than 99 languages with auto-detection or manual choice, progress tracking in the workspace, permanent audio storage on paid plans and exports in Markdown, TXT, SRT and VTT formats.
The site also offers dedicated pages for converting Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, RSS and YouTube to text, plus general audio, video and meeting transcription. An Ask feature is listed as coming soon.
Pricing: new accounts get 60 one-time free minutes (60 credits) with no credit card. Yearly plans start with Starter at 199 US dollars a year, with Pro and Advanced tiers for more hours and concurrent tasks, and one-off credit packs are also available. Each minute of audio uses one credit, rounded up, and you can review the estimate before starting.
The workspace is private by default, and processing time varies by source and recording length.
It is suited to heavy podcast listeners, content creators, students and researchers who want to read, quote and revisit podcast episodes without replaying the audio.
