Unmerge is an AI image-to-layers tool that splits a flat image into named transparent layers, fills in what was hidden behind them and exports a layered PSD.
You drop in a PNG, JPG or WebP image, and the model separates it into elements such as the background, main subject, title text and stickers. Larger images are resized to 4 MP, and the image stays in the browser until you choose to separate it.
Each layer comes back with a name, a description and its position on the canvas in stacking order. When you hide or move an element, the area behind it has been generated, such as letters behind a helmet or a crowd under a sticker.
Headlines, dates and label text come back as separate layers you can hide or move, although they are pixels rather than editable type. A sticker sheet can be split into one transparent layer per sticker, borders included.
Key features include layered PSD export, a ZIP of transparent PNG layers, a composite PNG, optional 2K layer output, and free sample images to try and download. A split returns at most 17 layers.
Pricing: a single split costs $2.90 per image with no account needed, or $3.90 with layers at 2K. An image pack is $24.90 for 340 credits that never expire. Pro is $21 a month for 400 credits and Ultra is $36 a month for 400 credits with every layer at 2K. One credit equals one returned layer, and failed splits are not charged. Accounts with a confirmed email get one free watermarked preview.
It is suited to designers, marketers and print or packaging teams who need to edit posters, flyers, ads and magazine covers when the original layered file is not available.
