Backenly is an autonomous backend platform built for AI coding agents. A coding agent builds the backend over MCP, and Backenly then maintains it, fixing what it can verify and undo and holding anything risky for a person to approve.
It provides standard PostgreSQL in a schema per project, with tables and relations, pgvector, direct connections, daily backups and pg_dump exports.
Every table is served as a REST API through PostgREST as soon as it exists, with filters, pagination, OpenAPI, typed clients and a JavaScript SDK. It also includes per-project user sign-up and sign-in, file storage buckets, realtime database changes over server-sent events, and TypeScript functions that run on row changes, sign-ups, schedules or HTTPS calls.
A self-healing loop checks every project every minute and repairs issues such as missing indexes, row-level security gaps and dead realtime triggers, verifying each fix live and recording it.
Every schema change is checked, versioned and can be rolled back. Destructive changes wait for human approval, and larger restructures are rehearsed on a copy of real data before being applied.
Agents connect with scoped, revocable keys through an MCP server, CLI, agent skill file and llms.txt. Team roles, logs, custom domains, single sign-on and self-hosting are available, and the project is open source on GitHub.
Pricing: the Free plan includes one live project, 50,000 monthly active users, a 512 MB database, 1 GB storage and 200 AI credits a month. Pro costs USD 25 a month with unlimited projects and higher limits, and Enterprise plans are also offered.
It is suited to developers, agencies and small teams building apps with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex who want a managed backend that stays maintained.
