Weftwake is an AI-powered text adventure in which you write what you do, a line or a page at a time, and an AI narrator writes the world around your words. The story pushes back, remembers what you have made true, and continues between sessions.
The world is designed to resist: characters refuse, bargain and lie, doors stay locked and events have consequences. Each chapter asks a question and its ending names the price, or you can turn chapters off and let a story simply flow.
It keeps track of places, people, open threads and what you carried or gave away, and threads you let go quiet can return later. You can also interrupt the narrator mid-sentence and the story follows your new direction.
Every night Weftwake reads your story, writes what happened, decides what will come back and draws an illustrated plate for the chapter. An optional morning letter delivers the dream, the new plate and a way back in, at most three times a week.
Key features include an /ask command for questions the world answers inside the story, an /elsewhere command to move in place or time, a live musical score built from recorded strings, piano, harp, guitar and winds with ambient sound, five reading styles (Nitrate, Manuscript, Cyanotype, Night Edition and Phosphor), and a cloth image that visualises your story without any of its words.
Stories are private by default, can be exported or deleted at any time, and the site states that your words are not used to train models. The service is for adults aged 18 and over, as stories can be dark.
Pricing: the free tier gives 40 turns in total with no account or card. Patron is 7.99 USD a month or 79.99 USD a year for 600 turns a month, with top-up packs from 3 USD. A Founding Patron rate of 4.99 USD a month for the first 12 months is offered to the first 200 Patrons.
