Friday is a free, open-source app that lets AI coding agents work together as one team on your own computer.
It coordinates the coding tools you already use, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and Devin, so they can split work on one shared board, message each other and hand off tasks.
When one agent hits its usage limit mid-task, another agent you already run picks it up with a brief of what was asked, read, run and changed, so the work keeps going without you re-explaining it.
Each agent can work in its own git worktree. You read every diff, leave line notes, stage changes by hunk and commit, so nothing ships until you have reviewed it.
Friday offers three ways to work: parallel coding agents on a feature board, a Work mode where agents write plans, posts, sheets and research briefs together in one folder, and Crew, which gives you AI teammates with a name, role, memory and their own folder. Recent releases add project memory so agents learn from corrections.
It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux as a desktop app or a single npx command (Node.js 22 and Git required). It uses the coding tools already signed in on your computer, so no extra API keys are needed, listens only on 127.0.0.1 and keeps its data locally.
Pricing: Friday is free and MIT licensed, with no account required. You use the coding tools and plans you already pay for.
It is suited to developers and teams who run several AI coding agents and want them to share work, review changes in one place and avoid stalling at usage limits.
