Zerg Client (ZTC) is an AI coding agent from Zerg AI for the terminal and desktop that works inside an existing project to plan changes, edit code and run tests.
It reads code, makes a plan, edits files, runs commands and checks the results. A plan mode supports read-only exploration before any changes, and work can be kept in named sessions that you reopen later.
ZTC is available as a terminal client installed with npm or bun (Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+), as a signed macOS desktop app, or both through a curl installer. The desktop app and interactive terminal need an Apple Silicon Mac, while headless runs also work on Linux and Windows.
To connect a model you can log in with ZergAI and use Zerg Router, which holds provider keys, offers DeepSeek without a separate key, and tracks usage with daily budgets and a monthly cap. You can also use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API keys or an eligible Claude Code account, and switch models at any time with the /model command.
Commands such as /plan, /sessions, /permissions and /help work in both the terminal and the desktop app, and a permission profile controls what the agent can do. ZTC is currently in evaluation beta.
Pricing: ZTC is free to evaluate under the Zerg Source Available License. Ongoing commercial use requires a separate signed commercial licence, and model usage is billed separately by your chosen route or provider.
It is suited to software developers and engineering teams who want an AI coding agent that works in their own terminal with a choice of models.
